Litter “Z”
Lio du Grand St. Bernard and Ripley de la Route de la Source became parents to eight adorable puppies on August 11 at the Barry Foundation in Martigny (VS). The puppies will be present at Barryland starting September 21.
At the age of four, the short-haired female Lio du Grand St. Bernard has become a mother for the second time. She gave birth to eight puppies: seven males and one female. All the puppies will have a pedigree and names beginning with the letter “Z”. Manuel Gaillard, Head of Breeding at the Fondation Barry, was present for the birth, which did not go quite as planned. He explains: “One puppy was born naturally, but we quickly had to perform a caesarean section for the others, which in itself is not unusual in a breeding programme.” The Fondation Barry team is now looking after the litter’s well-being, supporting the puppies as they take their first steps and embark on their exciting discovery of the world.
