Dimitri family host lively charity evening
Our first fund-raising event to be held in the Ticino took place on 6 September in Teatro Dimitri in Verscio and proved a great success. Guests went away with memories of unforgettable encounters with our St. Bernards, fascinating talks and amusing performances.
The dog show in front of a packed arena amazed both young and old alike. Together with her dogs Cheyenne and Wenda, our handler Aurélie Schillaci delved deep into her box of tricks and wowed the audience with the full range of their skills. Also involved was the young female Malta, who was overjoyed to encounter her Ticinese brother Magnum.
However, the many guests present did not only enjoy meeting our dogs – they were also treated to a wonderful performance put on by the Dimitri family, whom we’d like to thank for their hospitality and their great show.
While everyone was tucking in to their exquisite Ticinese risotto, one delighted guest was named the winner of a rubber dinghy donated by our principal sponsor Suzuki. Lady Luck was certainly smiling on her that evening! Ten more guests also won a small Barry memento to take home.
The event at the Teatro Dimitri was a unique opportunity to experience the St. Bernards and their fellow performers right up close and in an informal setting. We hope you enjoy looking through the photos and are looking forward to our next fund-raising evening in Zurich on 10 October.
